Sue is a Seasoned musician, she displays her love for Jazz music with her breezily infectious interpretations of a wide & interesting repertoire. When performing she favours her audience with a sensitivity to lyrics, impeccable feel for timing and an innate sense of swing.
Influenced by Ella Fitzgerald, Carmen McRae, Sarah Vaughan and all the great singers, Sue has developed her own honest and spontaneous style to become one of the most compelling Jazz singers in Australia.
She cut her teeth on the cabaret circuit in Sydney in her teens and her career blossomed when she moved to Perth to become the leading singer in the area and became a celebrity in her own right appearing on all the top television shows as a solo performer in Jazz.
Some of her many credits are appearing with Don Burrows on ABC television and working with such names as Kevin Hunt, Glen Shorrock, Spandau Ballet, Tony Barber, Kate Ceberano and Colleen Hewitt. She has recorded with the Queensland Theatre Company and appeared in many Jazz Festivals around Australia and New Zealand. She has supported the Phillip Morris Big Band at the Perth Concert Hall with the band Nova Dreams. Sue also had a regular spot on the then Jenny Seaton morning Show on Channel 7 and has appeared on many Appealathons and Telathons throughout Australia and was voted best female vocalist at the Australian 1983 Music Awards.
Sue studied singing at the Perth Conservatorium of Music and now she has settled in the Maroochydore area where she is very much in demand with her jazz quartet.
